the comprehensive needs of the child. The program also features
a Discovery (Science) Studio for more individualized instruction

into elementary school. Parents are encouraged to participate
with their children in the program. The Child Development Program
partners with Reading is Fundamental, The Letter People, Tumblebug,
Soundwaters, The Literacy Van, The Ferguson Library, The Bruce
Museum, and the Family Resource Centers.
Infants and Toddlers
Infant rooms range from 6 weeks to one year in age. Toddler
Rooms range from 12 months to 3 years in age.
The infant and toddler program encourages each child to move
through the appropriate developmental levels providing:
- An environment where every child can learn through experience,
trail and error, repetition, imitation and identification
- A broad array of stimulating experiences with a framework
of routines and a stress-free atmosphere
- A structured learning environment where routine tasks such
as eating, toileting and dressing are important opportunities to
help children learn about their world
- Verbal interaction between adults and children recognizing
that infant and toddler sounds are the beginning of communication
Pre-School
The pre-school program uses the Creative Curriculum,
with instruction in reading, math, science, social studies,
the arts and technology. It
features active, hands-on learning, with activities to foster
school preparedness skills and competencies, self-esteem
and physical development. |
