Who We Are
For over 100 years CLC has provided
quality education and care for young children and their families
within the Stamford and Greenwich communities.
CLC was established in 1902 as the Stamford Day Nursery to
provide care for the children of working families. Since then,
CLC has grown dramatically and is now licensed to serve 1,250
children and their families daily.
Our philosophy
At CLC, we know that children who develop good learning habits
during their early years have a better chance of succeeding
and becoming productive members of their community. In fact,
scientific studies have proven that learning patterns are
largely determined before a child enters kindergarten.
For quality education to take place, a child must feel a
sense of security and joy in learning. That is why we provide
a comprehensive array of programs and services that both empower
and nurture our young children during their most formative
years.
Our staff
CLC is a community of caring professionals working in close
collaboration with the Stamford Board of Education. All teachers
hold college degrees in Early Childhood Education and/or Child
Development Associate certificates. All staff members are
certified in pediatric first aid and CPR, and receive continual
in-service training.
